Museum of Old Art and New Art –MONA in Hobart
I had to visit Mona as I heard so much about it. The museum houses artistic works from David Walsh’s private collection. Notable works in include Sidney Nolan‘s Snake, displayed publicly for the first time in Australia. Wim Delvoye‘s Cloaca Professional, a machine which turns food into excrement. The exhibition is interesting but quite macbre.
There is a winery, brewery, restaurant and hotel on site. And of course cafes within the museum–you need the break as it has 3 floors of exhibits.
Outside views of Mona
Some shots inside the building. Each visitor is provided with a GPS to help them move around the museum and you can record what you have seen and if you send them your email address, you will be provide with a record of what you have seen. Pretty neat!
