Hakone –Japan—food


After Tokyo we journeyed to Hakone a resort area with golf courses, sights to see and views of Mt Fuji.  On our last afternoon we were lucky to see Fuji.  We stayed at the Palace Hotel with an open air hot bath (onsen).

We had a western meal with a Japanese twist
Seafood spaghetti served with a bottle of Tabasco hot sauce and a can of kraft Parmesan cheese.

Hamburger in a shape of steak and served with either rice or buns

Japanese breakfast was substantial. You can either have it with rice or rice porridge

On a visit to the Sulphurous vapour erupting area (Owakudani) the main industry appears to be cooking eggs in the hot sulphurious water. It states that eating them would prolong your life another 7, 000 years. We purchased 5 eggs.

We lashed out and had a Japanese dinner. Many courses. Each one was beautiful – and tasted great.
