Birthday lunch at the 4 J’s
Last Sunday we lunched at the 4 Js.
We were greeted by the blackboard menu
Yum…A slice of fig tart for dessert
Figs from Wendy’s garden
Of course we had mains.
A beef and pork terrine
Home made green tomato chutney and caramelised onions
“Quniao–a species of goosefoot is a grain-like crop grown primarily for its edible seeds. It is a psuedoccereal rather than a true cereal, or grain, as it is not a member of the grass family. Quinoa is closely related to species such as beets, spinach and tumbleweeds”–from wikipedia.
The seeds has a lovely texture and I would be getting some for the pantry too.
Autumn salad of pumpkin and shitaki mushrooms.
My plate of food
Apples from their garden
Jonte entertained us with his beginner’s “blues”
When you look at the view–it helps you delay the cleaning up.
And I reckon this is a challenge for me to paint this view in the future!
Thank you 4 Js for the lovely lunch and Sunday.
